absolutely beautiful. The gentle hands of that monkey show how much it cares for the kitten. and that kitten does look genuinely happy.

This picture makes me wonder.. does the monkey consider the kitten as HIS pet? Just speculating – does the monkey, being higher on the evolutionary scale, see the cat as something he would be superior to?
I recall seeing pics of a gorilla or some other large ape that took a cat as his “pet”.

Theo those are great pics! I loved those cute lil kittens! I squealed out loud and the whole office just gave me a strange look! This one reminds me of my bundle of love at home Kirby! He wakes me up with his warm squishy nose every morning … ahhhh what a wonderful way to start out the day!
I should put that next to something evolution-based. I don’t know why, but it would feel appropriate(ly cute).

Koko, the gorilla who communicates by sign langauge, has had a couple of cats. The first was a yellow guy (Lipstick, I think) who got hit by a car. Koko said he was sad. There are a lot of pictures of them cuddling.

Koko’s first kitten was “All-Ball.”
I can see the kitten here has already had its tail broken, which just tugs at my heart. I can’t do anything about it, and yet I want them both to be safe and happy.
It was the second kitten Koko got that was named “Lipstick.”

Maybe I’m crazy, but I swear it seems that monkey is trying to be more than just friends! 1st it’s a polite introduction, 2nd is wine and dine (got caught over “petting”) and the 3rd he’s scoping out a place in the park to get “cozy” and away from the camera. I do NOT want to see their offspring! LOL
koko’s first kitten was given to her after she repeatedly requested one. when given the kitten koko examined it carefully, including the mink buttons, and after watching him roar around playing, koko named him AllBall–i like to think she recognized him as male, and named him for his wild energy…
she mourned him greatly, and was very careful of her next kitten.
