Since when does scared=cute?

That has to be the prettiest kitty Ive ever seen. What kind of cat is it? I really want to get one just like him. Please get back to me.

This is another one of my favorites. You can tell that the owners of this kitty have the bathing down to a science and a routine. Kitty doesn’t like it, no, but looks more resigned than any of mine have ever looked under the same circumstances.

I have a deal with my cats. I don’t wash them if they keep clean. If they need a bath, they get one. Amongst the four of them I think they have had a total of about five baths (one is fastidious and has NEVER needed one) in their lives with me. In each case, it was necessitated by illness or (yuk) incontinence or both (big tough orange kitty pees all over himself when forced to go to the vet…)

my ‘norwegian forest cat’ (very similar to maine coon) also loves water. both my kitties insist on being in the bathroom whenever i shower. one sits and sleeps in between the liner and shower curtain on the edge of the bath, and the other jumps in to splash around as soon as i am out. they love to be around all types of water, some cats just like it! but yes, some hate it, but to say baths should be avoided for ALL cats is a little extreme and quite judgemental. animals, like humans, are all different and we don’t know everything about the personalities of other peoples’ cats. and the whining is just annoying. the owners of this beautiful cat obviously have tons of love for their pets. do not judge from a series of 10 pictures, that you know everything about the cat or its humans. things aren’t always just black and white, and to automatically assume one extreme position based on NO true knowledge of the situation is just juvenile.

It’s true that most cats hate water. However, there are some breeds that love to play in it and will even splash in their water dishes. I’m thinking specifically of the Maine Coon.

When I rescued my kitty from a gas station parking lot, she got a bath as she was covered in motor oil and dirt. In her two years she has received two baths, both necessary. Guess what? She’s not scarred for life, and I may even give her another bath someday! I don’t consider myself, a huge cat lover, to be abusing my cat.

As for the hairballs, she is a half Maine Coon–hates to be brushed even more than she hates to be bathed. She thinks I’m trying to kill her if I try to give hairball meds so I highly doubt she’d go for olive oil!
