Cuteologist Profile: Hatty from Japan

Cuteologist Hatty from Japan, posted this little gem on the Cuteologist Web site. Yes, I had to fix the eyes in Photoskank… They were red, otherwise!

Hey Hatty, what’s that morsel in front of you?

Hatty: Sniffle.

  1. Tee hee, it’s fluffy. :)

  2. Lynne and Nellie says:

This has to be the cutest bunnie ever! You have made my day.

  3. Hattie’s sniffle is poetry in motion!!

  4. little miao says:

What a fuzzy little bunny with perfect little bunny ears! Is that Hatty’s adorable pink tongue? So precious!

  5. sigh… bunnies aGAIN… but yeah, Hatty’s a cutie. Looks like (s)he’s giving an interview.

  6. Garfield says:

    Who the fuzz is Hatty?

    oh my, that’s sweeeet! :)

  7. Oh my, oh my, oh my, such a cute, fuzzy little bun bun. Thanks for the smile. I kinda needed it today! If only I could give the bun bun a cuddle!

  8. Yep, Theo… Some of us are happy about it, too! ;)

  9. OH MY GAWD!! If you’ve ever had a bunny, you *know* the sound she’s making–soft, muffled scrunch-crunch-crunch. I can never get enough bunnies.

  10. Theo, bunnies have one of the highest Cute factors of any member of the animal kingdom. Therefore, you probably will have to put up with a fairly high bunny quotient here on CO.

It’s a dust bunny!! (some of the ones under my bed are almost this fluffy, but not as cute).

  11. Beauregard says:

I love the cheek tufts. I just got my poor old favorite car shredded to hell by a semi, so little parallel ears make me feel a wee bit better.

  12. E.C., Thinker — yeah, I know. I’m outnumbered 3 to 1 in my own *household* by bunny fans. I just like my little predators, is all. You’re perfectly free to cuddle your prey.
    ;)

  13. oooh, I prefer the predators too (the feline ones, that is)–but I appreciate cuteness in all its morphs.

  14. As long as it isn’t more puppies and kittens…

…believe me, I love them, but when it comes to Cute Overload, I prefer a variety!

  15. But you know, my bunny adored my cat. Ran circles around her, nuzzled her fur and waited to be petted–by my cat, yes. Kitty wasn’t so interested but for Bunny–well, hope springs eternal.

  16. omgosh that bunny is perhaps the cutest bunny i ever saw. it’s so fluffy and cute and huggable.

    love the colors too O+

  17. BUNNY NOSE!!! My greatest weakness… the wiggly bunny nose and bunny lips… ALL things bunny!!! Argh! I want a bunny sooooooooooooooooooo bad!

  18. moptopmouse says:

the little creature looks like the puffer fish but w/ears and fluffy..the slightly sideways tongue gives the lil’ creature a pitiful cute look.. Cute but slightly heartbreakin’..

  19. Look at that little mouth — the bunny is mid-chew. The cuteness level reaches new heights of awwwwwwwwwwwwww…..

  20. Hey Meg, when you need to adjust eyes in photoshop to compensate for the red, there’s a better way than totally painting over them. Try searching your photoshop help for “color replacement” to learn about the color replacement tool. If this isn’t enough information, then try googling it. You’ll likely get a lot of hits with different methods for removing redeye, but the color replacement method gives the best results, as it doesn’t require repainting or recreating speculars. Choose a nice dark brown color as the replacement, so the eyes look natural. I hope you give it a shot; if you have any questions, just ask!

  21. gorgeous!!! cute!!!

  22. adorababy says:

bunny is sweet & looks like grampa Munster

  23. I think the eyes look good, nicely done Meg.

I also am a big fan of the MOVING BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Christine says:

SO SO SO CUTE AND FLUFFY!!! LOVE!!! I LOVE the animation, too. Is Hatty the cuteologist or the bunny, though?

Also, fellow cuteologists…am I out of my mind for thinking that plants, specifically African violets, can be cute? Because my cute little African violet with cute pretty little purple flowers fell off its ledge today for the second time, and I found myself apologizing to it because it’s so cute and pretty and lovable.

  25. Thank you for lots of comment.
    hatty is my name…sorry!
Her name is Ponta. To tell the truth, Ponta is a name for male in Japan… I mistook her sex at first…

  26. Its eyes look OMINOUS, as though you are staring into the eyes of an abysmal, hopeless Void, greater than any death one could experience…

  27. Heh… I was wondering if “Hatty” referred to the rabbit or the owner.

Here’s a bunny hat for you:

  28. Suzy, thanks for the tip! I will totally try it!

  29. Anyone else notice the “hare lip”?

    wocka wocka

  30. a) “hare lip = phenomenol

    b) i am dead from this bunny

  31. bwight blue eyes!!!

  32. What a sweet fluffy bunbun.

Reminds me that it’s almost Easter time, time for those Cadbury Egg commercials with a fat bunny going “bock bock bock bock-AAAAAA” like a chicken.

  33. this is the same bunny, right?

    http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2006/03/flufflighting_1.html

    bring more kitties.

  34. oops, something went wrong there. same filename I think. Meg, you might want to check that “flufflighting” post.

  35. Christine – About plants being cute, I’m with you. My favorite flowers for a long time were some tiny pansies that my grandmother called Johny-Jump-Ups, that were purple and gold and only about 3/4″ across. And teeny-tiny wilde ‘shrooms are adorable, *I* think.

But then, I also think baby grasshoppers and tiny spiders are cute, so I may just be . . . weird ;-).

  36. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
    I needz a fuzzybunny kiss!

  37. JessJess0214 says:

  38. Nice job on the eyes, it actually makes the bunny even cutter!

  39. Christine says:

Johnny-Jump-Ups? I LOVE those! I love pansies too — they’re so pretty and sweet-looking, and their petals are SOFT.

  40. I don’t think I really reccomend color replacer for correcting red eye, because you have to select each color. Here is a great tutorial for red eye removal involving painting using layers, blends for a more natural look: http://www.escrappers.com/redeyes.html

  41. Quick-and-dirty redeye reduction a la Theo:

    1) Roughly mask the pupils using select-ellipse or lasso tool
    2) From the color tools, take the color saturation all the way down

    …ba da bing.

  42. Too lazy to read all the other comments…but imho, the eyes are super scary now. I guess they’d be scarier if they were red, but they don’t look….real, I guess. Otherwise, Cute CUte CUTE. Fave part? Munched on carrot, like “sorry for interrupting your snack, Miss Hatty Buns.”

  43. …and after submitting, I did scroll up and read a bit.

…like, “sorry for interrupting your snack, Miss PONTA Buns.”

  44. this is like the made from the blueprint that is japanese cuteness…
fluffiness, sparkly beady eyes, bit o tongue for the faint at heart (swooon)
ps. plants are totally cute, i agree with the johnny jump ups but have you really looked a bachelors buttons? adorable!
also hens and chickens, v v cute

  45. pansies johnny jump ups….in the victorian language of flowers…means thoughts….but this lil bunster…..omg so yummilicious!!!!!!!!

  46. Theo: Why don’t you just use the sponge tool to desaturate?

Aurora: Sorry, but color replacement doesn’t require that you select each color. I’m not sure what gave you that impression. Perhaps you didn’t play with the tolerance? It allows you to modify a range of reds all at once.

    http://www.digitalphotobook.net/tutorials/red-eye/redeye_1.html

This site seems to detail the color replacement method nicely. The great thing about it is that it’s super easy, and it only affects the color you want it to; in this case, the red, so you don’t have to worry about messing up the surrounding image. I’d lay off on the burn tool unless absolutely necessary, though.

Of course, if you have CS2 or (I think) Elements, then just use the Red Eye tool.

  47. Sniffle. =)

  48. Suzy — I’m actually using GIMP. I’ll look and see if it’s got a “sponge” tool somewhere, tho. Maybe it’s a setting in the dodge/burn tool…

  49. kagomechan21 says:

Let’s face it, even the CARROT piece is cute!!

  54. I love all the cowlicks, umm, bunlicks? Even cuties have bad hare, umm, hair days!
