That cat will have no one to blame from himself when the puppy hits adolescence and wants to use the cat for *ahem* special services rather than, say, a sofa pillow…..

is that “kitty-porn” LOL

11 hannahbelle 02.19.06 at 4:20 pm

we call cats kneading “making bicuits” :D

12 s 02.19.06 at 4:24 pm

oh oh we call it making bread. but i clearly see that this cat is a masseuse and the doggy is hypnotized by the enya music and the lavendar oil…..

Wonderful video – That sweet puppy looks so comfy. And it’s not at all unusual. My cat Bear gives his two dogs massages all the time. He has since they were puppies. They tolerate it up to a point (after a while they get restless) and he seems to just love cuddling them. I’ve never one, in 30 years, had a problem with all my critters getting along.

14 maymee 02.19.06 at 5:40 pm

hannahbelle, we call it “makin’ biscuits.” No G in making, very important! :)

15 Mel 02.19.06 at 6:48 pm

That must be a Swedish cat.

16 Vix 02.19.06 at 7:13 pm

What’s with all the cat necrophilia? First a dead ferret and now a dead dog. JK, I assume the dog isn’t dead. Probably just sedated.

Cute kitty anyway.

17 Meg 02.19.06 at 7:57 pm

I love how the puppy’s eye is looking up at the cat—like “WTF?!”

18 fawn lust 02.19.06 at 8:01 pm

ooh, we call it making muffins. i love regional dialect cuteness differentiation. someone write their dissertation on this important subject, please.

19 Jemeh 02.19.06 at 8:53 pm

We used to call that behaviour “pounding dough”.

20 Kym 02.19.06 at 10:57 pm

That makes me miss my kitty.

Soooo cute. X3

Hello from Canada!
We call this suckface..The kneading goes back to infancy when they are nursing.Usually a cat will do this if he is taken away from mommy too young!

“…and on the white noise machine you have your choice to listen to a lapping lake, a buoy bell, a dove coo, pattering rain or, my personal favorite, a free-running circular saw…”

23 Wendy 02.20.06 at 2:16 pm

Yup, “makin’ biscuits!” I love the look kitties get on their faces. It’s always the same. Pure bliss. Brings them back to the day when they were nursing from mom!

24 TheIdleReceptionist 02.20.06 at 2:44 pm

Awwww! That kitty is OWNING that puppy. I can just hear her saying,

“Ahh, yes. Just relax, puppy, I’m going to give your hamstrings some attention. Lotta tension here, wow, what do you do, haul bricks for a living? What’s that? More work on the deltoids? Ok, ok, just relax.”

25 Thalia 02.20.06 at 8:57 pm

I don’t know. We had several litters of kittens at my house when I was a kid, and we never gave them away. They lived with their mothers all their lives and they all did the “kneading” thing, so I doubt it’s anything to do with being taken away from their mothers too early, just instinct when they’re really happy.

I call it “mushing”. Like what sled dogs do. ;)

26 cool dude dog lover 02.20.06 at 10:09 pm

Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

27 Theo 02.20.06 at 10:39 pm

Orange tabbies seem particularly peculiar this way. Ours does this too, and he’s no little bit, either, AND has all 20 pawhooks. Ouch ouch ouch.

And btw it goes like this:
Purrrrrrrrrr purrrrrrrrrrr
knead knead knead knead knead knead
…droooooooool.

28 Samantha 02.21.06 at 1:58 am

Actually, my tuxedo cats used to do the same thing whenever they were comfortable and happy, just not to my dog.

29 Donncha O Caoimh 02.21.06 at 9:33 am

Oh very very cute! I showed it to my gf and she went all gushy on me! :)

30 finn 02.21.06 at 1:00 pm

makes me moony about going back to oirland.

31 Donncha O Caoimh 02.21.06 at 1:06 pm

Thanks Finn! Keep coming back, I post a new photo every day!

Hey is is the new doggy spa treatment! Cat Massage is now the latest puppy treat. It will relax those tiered puppy muscles from all that hyper running around and will create a zen like state for hours!

33 Becky 12.20.06 at 1:54 am

That’s weird!

34 Christine 07.14.07 at 1:01 pm
