“Wot? the rabbit?”

This is so Monty Python it’s ridiculous, only this time, it’s a ferret. James W. H., thank you for sending in this delightful photo. For he rest of you; quotes:

Tim:There he is!
King Arthur:Where?
King Arthur:What? Behind the rabbit?
Tim:It *is* the rabbit!
King Arthur:You silly sod!
King Arthur:You got us all worked up!
Tim:Well, that’s no ordinary rabbit.
King Arthur:Ohh.
Tim:That’s the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Sir Robin:You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
Tim:Look, that rabbit’s got a vicious streak a mile wide! It’s a killer!
Sir Galahad:Get stuffed!
Tim:He’ll do you up a treat, mate.
Sir Galahad:Oh, yeah?
Sir Robin:You mangy Scots git!
Tim:I’m warning you!
Sir Robin:What’s he do? Nibble your bum?
Tim:He’s got huge, sharp… er… He can leap about. Look at the bones!
King Arthur:Go on, Bors. Chop his head off!
Sir Bors:Right! Silly little bleeder. One rabbit stew comin’ right up!

"Well, we’ll not risk another frontal assault. That rabbit’s dynamite."

"I *warned* you, but did you listen to me? Oh, no, you *knew*, didn’t you? Oh, it’s just a harmless little *bunny*, isn’t it?"

  1. Cute little ferret…

and I love MP. 🙂 They go together well! Hope no one has a Holy Hand Grenade…

  2. SWEET! god, i love the Python. but…er…that’s not a rabbit O.o*

  3. It’s either albino, or it has its winter coat (more likely).

    That ferret *is* dynamite, tho.

  4. pistache268 says:

    Oh such a little nose.

  5. PS — hey Tigger — check out *this* link.

  6. Adorable ferret! I love Monty Python too!

  7. Esclarmonde says:

It’s adorable, but I don’t think it’s a ferret. If this is a wild animal, it’s probably a genuine ermine. As in, the animal they make fur coats out of. We have ferrets — including an albino — and it doesn’t look quite like this.

  8. Ooh, ermine! I think we have a winner. (link)

  9. It’s a stoat, they aren’t albinos…they just change their coats.

  10. Ehn! (sound of me trying to reach cute critter for hugs and snuggles)

  11. Hmmm hard to say – here’s a link for a stoat (and a cute baby stoat it is!)

  12. Stoat coat.

Stoat coat stoat coat stoat coat.

    Cous cous.

  13. Oh, my god that is melting my whole cranium!!

You planted the cutest little plush toy ever made in that cave to make it look like a real ferret, then took a photo… didn’t you admit it now!

That photo is mnd alteringly cute… and in a natural setting no less!

  14. But surely this ferrett will greet visitors with a warm, snuggly reception!!

  15. Yeah, that’s a stoat in its winter coat, aka ermine:

    Soooo adorable.

  16. Run away! Run away!

  17. Oh *good* one!

  18. Whoa. First Meg trots out the old Python quotes, then later the same day I find *this* on Slashdot (link). Coincidence???

  19. Yeah, I was like, that’s not a ferret, it’s some kind of weasel.

  20. Sharp Pointy Teeth! Deadly cute.

  21. Look out it is the Vorpal Weasel!!!

  22. I’m with you otter… that lil guy looks like a toy stuffy. Cripes!

    Gotta get a Gund.

  23. Vampire bunny flashbacks. *_*;; …GARLIC!

  24. ah, stoat, the royal ermine. it looks cute even in the queen’s portrait: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Elizabeth_I_%28Ermine_Portrait%29.jpg

  25. lol, you people.

    That’s not a ferret.

    It’s an Ermine. LOL

  26. Awww…so cute, No one could bear to use the Holy Hand Grenade on it.

  27. Awwww…It’s cute to the point where it looks somewhat unreal, like a plushie. :3

  28. Ferret/ Stoat/ Ermine/ Mink?
Does it really even matter what I think?
Darn your snowy coat and beady black eyes,
You’ll be in trouble when the next reader dies.

  29. [bows down before Subhangi]

[then, as a thought occurs, stands back up]

…um I think you may have left out “weasel.”
I drive a car. It uses diesel.

    [pained expression. bows back down.]

  30. I JUST CAN’T TAKE THE CUTE *head explodes*

  31. that’s great, I love Monthy Phyton & bunnies.

  32. [Salutes Theo:]

Isn’t it great what cuteness can do?
It makes poets out of me and you.

  33. what freak of nature is that?

  34. its so pretty….swoon.

  35. what is this a shroo?

  36. O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.

  37. I used to have a Silver Mitt ferret — she was white, with big black eyes, just like that. And then she had some black or dark brown guard hairs, but they were towards her rump-end.

So, this could be a dark-eyed white or a light-guarded silver mitt ferret, if it’s not a wild animal mentioned above.

But still, so cute I can’t stand it.

  38. It is actually a “least weasel,” I believe.

  39. parathalyn says:

That a ermine (also called a stoat) in it’s winter coat. Cute!

  40. That is too cute ^_^

  41. Well, remember that the way to tell the difference between a weasel and a stoat is that a weasel’s weaselly identified, while a stoat’s stoatally different.

  42. This looks like a Least Weasel in its winter coat to me.

Least Weasel is one of the smallest carnivores, at a whopping 7 inches long.

  43. Anybody's says:

    Dear Meg,

What a cute lil’ ferret, er, whatever it is, but I remember from the Holy Grail that it was a killer bunny, but I give you props ’cause its cute!!

    Killer Bunny(Anybody’s)

  44. Aw, look at weasel/ermine/stoat’s furry legs! And its nose!

  45. AWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! 2cute 2 B true I LUV monty python!!!!

  46. AWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! 2cute 2 B true I LUV monty python!!!!
